Roser Park

Head southwest of downtown St. Petersburg and you’ll arrive at a historic neighborhood called Roser Park. Characterized by hilly tree-lined streets and a winding creek, this hidden gem is a tranquil and beautiful residential area that was one of St. Petersburg’s first suburbs.

Roser Park is bordered by 4th Street North and Martin Luther King Jr. Street to the east and west, and by Booker Creek and Ingleside Avenue (11th Avenue South) to the north and south. The area is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and within its boundaries features 146 historic buildings.

The neighborhood, with its lush vegetation, paved red brick and sloping hills is a landscape unlike any other in the area. The neighborhood was originally built as a park to look as natural as possible for city residents looking to escape the hectic pace of city life. It draws country elements close to the city.

The style of houses features plenty of the Mediterranean or Spanish-style architecture and feature a range of colonial revival to bungalows with wide overhangs and open porches, prairie style and more.

Take a walking tour along Booker Creek and throughout the neighborhood to explore the features, homes and historical significance of Roser Park. Enjoy this peaceful hidden gem tucked away beside St. Petersburg’s downtown area.
