Snell Isle
Snell Isle is a neighborhood that offers an area that is not only a joy to live in, but that is loved by those who live nearby. Separated from downtown St. Pete by only a short drive, the area is right among the exciting culture of the arts district in St. Pete. Named after local developer, C. Perry Snell (1869-1942), Snell Isle has been referred to as “St. Petersburg’s best-known upscale neighborhood.” After its opening in October of 1925, millions of dollars worth of lots were bought. It is a very well populated neighborhood that is also home to several attractions that make the area such a unique and special place. One of these attractions, Snell Isle Park Plaza, is a park that is said to reflect the past in all its brilliance. This can be seen by its renovated walkways, statuary, and landscaping that was made possible by volunteers of the Association. Another historic landmark is the St. Petersburg Woman’s Club. This building is featured on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and was given the gorgeous location it has due to Mr. Snell’s view that it is “the city's strongest and most important organization.” The homes in the area are known for their European and Spanish architecture as well as their waterfront homes. The area also offers luxury water front towers, such as the Water Club.
