The 2014 Mainsail Art Festival is happening this weekend in Downtown St. Pete! The festival features some great local artists and is loads of fun for the whole family!
The Mainsail Art Festival is held every year in Downtown St. Pete and draws crowds from all over Florida. The festival started as a small side-walk crafts sale in the late 70's and has turned into a huge weekend-long event that brings in top visual artist from all over the world. Artists setup tents to showcase their work in Vinoy Park and along the streets and sidewalks of Bayshore Drive. The festival is free and open to all and it’s a great showcase of St. Pete lifestyle.
If you’re attending Mainsail with children, look for the Kids Create tent, where volunteers facilitate free art-making activities. The day’s offering might be print-making, painting with watercolors or even seed-planting. Then, inspire young creatives with a walk through the student art tent, where kindergarteners through high school seniors representing area schools display their creations for judging.
